As we all know that after creating a blog. To start a blog, it is necessary to have basic settings in Blogger. Here we are going to teach you how to set up basic settings in Blogger. It is a bit complicated for new bloggers to learn how to set up basic settings on the Blogger website.
Follow all steps which are given below👇
Step 1 - Go to the blogger dashboard
log in to your blogger account with your Google account.
Go to the blogger dashboard their you can find settings. Click on the settings button.

Basic settings
Title- Enter the name of your blog
Description- enter a short description of your blog and what you deliver on your blog.
Blog language- select your blog language. In which language do you provide your content?
Adult content- If any adult content is on your site then on the "Show warning to blog readers" button. And on Require age confirmation.
Google Analytics property ID- If you want to track your traffic then enter your google analytics Id.
Favicon- Upload a custom favicon for your blog. Your favicon must be square or less than 100 KB. Choose a file and save it.
Privacy
If you want your blog or blog posts indexed in google then "on" the "Visible to search engines" option.
Publishing
Blog address:- your blog address is displayed in the address bar which is already created by us.
Custom domain:- Add a custom domain If you have otherwise skipped this option.
Fallback subdomain:- No need to change anything here.
Redirect domain:- After adding a custom domain don't forget to redirect the domain.
HTTP
Must be on HTTPS availability and HTTPS redirect.
Permissions
Blog admins and authors: here admin and author name show you no need to take any changes here.
The pending author invites/Invite more authors/Reader access /Custom readers/ Pending custom reader invites/ Invite more readers:- You do not have to make any changes to this option.
Posts
Max posts shown on the main page:- select the number how many posts you want to display on your home page.
Note: select minimum posts 6 or 8 otherwise javascript. It will increase affects your site speed.
Image lightbox: must on image lightbox.
Comments
Comment location:- In the comment section choose the location of the embedded option.
Who can comment? Select Anyone (including anonymous) and save it.
Comment moderation:- select always an option and save it.
Comment form message:- leave a message for your viewers as shown in the picture below.
Post using email:- select the option disable and save it.
Formatting
Time zone:- select your current country's time zone. I am from India so I select (GMT+05:30) India Standard Time – Kolkata.
Date header format:- select the date format which you want.
Timestamp format:- select your country's time format.
Comment timestamp format:- select your comment timestamp format as your choice.
Meta tags
Enable search description:- On this option without this, your meta tags do not show in the google search engine.
Search Description:- here write about your website. what you are delivering to your viewers on your website. Try to write short and sweet descriptions.
Errors and redirects:- there is no need to make any changes.
Custom redirects:- If you want to change the URL of any post then you point your old URL to the new URL from the option of custom redirects.
Crawlers and indexing
This is the most important setting in the blogger. New bloggers make mistakes here.
Enable custom robots.txt:- On this option
Custom robots.txt:- here you need to add code. You just copy and paste the code which is given below. But before pasting in your website change the URL of my site with your website URL. As Shown in the picture.

Note:- your sitemap in the google search console must be /atom.xml.redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
Enable custom robots header tags:- On this option
Home page tags:- select All and nodp and save.
Archive and search page tags:- All and nodp and save.
Post and page tag:- All and node and save.

Monetization:- this option will be explained in a further post.
Manage blog/Site feed:- nothing to change here
General
In general, settings click on the user profile here you mention yourself according to your choice of what you want to show to your users.
